Whale shark
The whale shark, Rhincodon typus, is a slow moving filter feeding shark that is the largest living fish species. It can grow up to 12.2 m (40 ft) in length and can weigh up to 13.6 tonnes (15 short tons). This distinctively-marked shark is the only member of its genus Rhincodon and its family, Rhincodontidae (called Rhinodontes before 1984), which is grouped into the subclass Elasmobranchii in the class Chondrichthyes. The shark is found in tropical and warm oceans and lives in the open sea and can live for about 70 years.[3] The species is believed to have originated about 60 million years ago. Although whale sharks have very large mouths, they feed mainly, though not exclusively, on plankton, microscopic plants and animals (a whale shark was observed feeding on a school of small fish in the Discovery Channel program Planet Earth).

Типичные актинии (относящиеся к отряду Actiniaria) - одиночные морские животные, похожие на махровые цветы. Но вместо лепестков у них клейкие ядовитые щупальца. У каждой особи десятки или сотни щупалец, но их число всегда кратно 6. За щупальца они и получили свои названия. Актиний по-латыни значит «лучистый». Еще одно русское и английское название «анемон» происходит от имени красивого махрового цветка из семейства лютиковых - ветреницы. На иврите актиний называют «шушанат ям». Актинии относятся к примитивному типу Cnidaria или Сoelenterata - кишечнополостные.
The Mbu puffer
The Mbu puffer, giant puffer, or giant freshwater puffer, Tetraodon mbu, is a carnivorous freshwater pufferfish originating from the middle and lower sections of the Congo river in Africa, as well as the east coast of Lake Tanganyika near the Malagarasi River mouth.
The species is commonly referred to as the giant freshwater pufferfish due to its massive size, growing to a length of 67 cm (26 inches). As such, these fish are difficult to adequately house in captivity since they require a very large aquarium and appropriately scaled water filtration.

То, что представители этого класса похожи на растения, а именно на мхи, вытекает из их русского названия (да и из английского тоже). Действительно, колонии многих мшанок похожи на моховые подушки, другие напоминают водоросли, гидроидные полипы, кораллы. Это достаточно крупный тип, включающий 5 тысяч видов морских и пресноводных животных. Размеры отдельных животных (научное название отдельной особи мшанки –зооид) не превышают 3 мм, но стелющиеся колонии, покрывающие тонкой коркой камни, раковины и иные поверхности, могут занимать площадь от миллиметров до метров, объединяя от нескольких зооидов до нескольких миллионов особей.
